CPAP: First Impressions

Post by ThomasMcKean » Thu Mar 19, 2009 10:49 pm

Today I (FINALLY!) got my CPAP! ACK!!!

Elite II with H4i humidifier and Liberty mask.

Also have a snugglehose and pur-sleep starter kit. Not too impressed with the scents, will try "Clear" for my first nite.

The first thing I noticed as I was setting it up in the bedroom just now was the mask came with a DVD. That was too funny! I might even watch it!

The other thing I quickly realized was the RT/DME left the clinician's setup guide in the case.

Way kewl.

I will post numbers when I wake up, as I see people do tend to do this afte rthe first nite...

So what were your first impressions with CPAP and the accessories? I'm thinking about getting tested for sleep apnea and am interested in any feedback you may have. I'm a little skeptical in going through the sleep study process, though my friends with CPAP already state that is the hardest part. Your thoughts?...Thanks

Thomas, I hope it was a GREAT first night.

I believe that the most important factor in achieving CPAP success is the sheer determination to keep trying until there is a success.

Best of sleep to you,

Thomas - glad to have you on board. I'm a completely newbie too, and am anxiously awaiting my equipment. How long did it take you to get yours?
