Mask for sore neck??
My wife has developed a strained neck. Very sore in the back of her neck. She is required to use her sleep machine since she has severe sleep problems. She needs a full face mask. She has two masks and both have straps around the back of her neck. Does anyone know about a mask that does not require a strap around the back of her neck? Thank you.
Re: Mask for sore neck??
I have the same kind of problem with my neck and use a full face mask. I have tried lots of masks, and nothing really is comfortable on my neck.
While I was trying to make new straps for a nasal pillow mask that I wanted to try, I found that cutting off the legs of tights or nylon stockings worked great for straps. Tights tend to have a tighter weave and be a bit heavier, nylons are very stretchy, so can take a bit more adjustment so create anything that is a more permanent setup that doesn't require too much time to get it fitting correctly every night. You might also try sewing tubes of swimming suit material that are 3/8 - 1/2 inches wide and design something with them.
These materials are much softer than the headgear that comes with the masks, and is way more comfortable - I can hardly feel them at all.
With the nasal pillow masks, I use a chin strap that has a large velcro closure, and when it gets stuck on the nylons - it is really stuck and is a mess. I am still working on a solution for that problem.
Hope this helps.
