when do things get better?

Post by drgmeh » Wed Mar 18, 2009 10:54 pm

I have been on bi-pap for 8 months now. I still dont sleep well. I have tried many masks, nasel prong ones wouldnt stay put all night, I tried a full face mask, I drool and would wake many times with a cold wet spot on my face. My current mask Ultra Mirage II tickles my nose and wakes me many times a night having to scratch. Is there a miracle mask out there Im not aware of? I tolerate the mask as long as I can, usually till 5 or 6 am. I take it off and sleep till 8. The last few hours seem like alot better sleep. My sleep study said I stoped breathing 90 times an hour. I find it odd I sleep better without the mask sometimes. Do things really get better? Is it a matter of finding the right mask? Seems to me 8 months and things should be better.

Your profile shows that you have software. Do you actually have it and are you monitoring your therapy with it?
If so.....what do your numbers show?

Den

Obviously, it's the mask keeping you awake. I think it IS a matter of finding the right interface. Unfortunately, the "miracle mask" is the one that fits YOU. I tried 3 from the DME and 4 I bought myself on cpapauctions. Not totally sure I've found it yet... Good luck!

The OSA patient died quietly in his sleep.
Unlike his passengers who died screaming as the car went over the cliff...
