driness

My mouth, throat and nasal passage gets really dry when using my CPAP. This happens even when I use a chin strap and raise the humidifier level. Has anyone gone through this and if so what can you do to correct this?

Chin straps are known to not be very effective - have you tried a FF mask? How about a 'room' humidifier?

I'm experiencing the same thing using a full-face mask and room humidifier.

Try drinking more water during the day -- most people don't get enough -- I know I don't.

Otherwise, the only option is to crank up the humidifier more.

A question about humidifier settings... By turning up the level, does the humidifier put out more output, or does it just get hotter? Just wondering. Seems like it just gets hotter, which might lead to more dryness overall.

I have a lot of dryness. I use Biotene mouthwash and toothpaste (you can get it at Walmart, etc.) It's for dry mouth and it works well. I actaully have a condition called Sjogrens Syndrome that causes mouth and eye dryness.
Most of the time, when there's dryness, with CPAP, there's some kind of leak somewhere. I use a nasal mask and tape for my mouth, since the chin straps were worthless for me. That helped the dryness.
Best,
