I'm using a Resmed S6 with a a Zzz-Mask Nasal nasal mask. When I go to sleep and use the 30 min ramp up the mask fits great with a great seal. But, every night for this first week, I seem to wake up right around 2 hours after going to sleep and the seal is broken and the I can't get the mask to stop air leaks. Since I'm in a daze at that hour, I end up taking the mask off and turning off the CPAP and humidifier...
I'm guessing the mask isn't able to keep the seal when the pressure ramps up but am guess that should be an issue at about 30 mins -not sure why it seems to be 2 hours when I have the issue each night.
Since this is an older machine (I got it years ago but was never motivated enough to really use it) it doesn't give me any data - if I'm able to get some nights of good sleep and feel better, then I may be willing to spring for a newer Auto CPAP machine w/ data so I can see what's actually happening.
Are there any tricks of the trade to try get me past this bump in the road? I'm very motivated and go to sleep each night hoping to make it through the night and to wake up rested in the morning - I can't remember the last time I felt that way...
Thanks

Re: Newbie - mask leak questions
I'm having trouble knocking my masks loose, and a PAP pillow really helps. I made my own by getting a foam pillow from big lots for $17 and cut a couple of big square chunks on each side.
Encore Pro 1.8.49; Encore Pro Analyzer 0.8.9 by James Skinner
SnuggleHose - Got the 8 foot and cut it down to 6, used the rest for mask hoses.
Memory Foam Pillow - Cut my own out of my Tempur-pedic pillow. (works great!)
Hose Mgmt - Velcro Tie Strap

You need to adjust the mask to the pressure your machine is blowing at rather than the RAMP pressure as the higher pressure will always cause the mask to be more prone to leakage.craigme wrote:I'm using a Resmed S6 with a a Zzz-Mask Nasal nasal mask.
