The ResScan software and card reader arrived this morning. I haven't yet gone through the manual in full, but I did notice something curious in what the software is showing me from the last three nights. In the detailed graphs, there is always a spike in leak rate (much higher than any real leak) at the very end of the night. It coincides with a drop in pressure and is clearly the result of my turning off the Elite II in the morning. Once I turn it off, I take the mask off, and it continues to blow air to dry the hose. The graph shows a spike rising over two minutes as the graph of the pressure falls to zero; the spike peaks at something like 20L/min and then falls over the next minute to zero. Now, this is clearly an anomalous event, but it is bound to affect the maximum statistic and maybe even the 95th percentile statistic (it's not clear to me what the granularity is of the intervals used). Does anyone else see these events? Is there something I can do about them?
I can see the temptation to get an oximeter...
Spike in leak rate at end of detailed data?
Re: Spike in leak rate at end of detailed data?
I have noticed this spike also. It doesn't appear to affect the 95th percentile number as I frequently have "0.00" leak free readings.
I wouldn't worry about it.
I wouldn't worry about it.
Re: Spike in leak rate at end of detailed data?
I'm with Shooter........I have a leak of 0.0 L/sec a majority of nights and I have the same spike. It also occurs when I shut the machine off to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. It does not appear to effect my 95th percentile readings, either.

Re: Spike in leak rate at end of detailed data?
Mine does the same but once you hit the off button, the data is no longer considered in overall nightly data. I would not worry about it. Just something Resmed does, though I am not sure why.
Life can move pretty fast, if you don't stop and look around once in a while you could miss it.

Thanks for the reassurances.
