Hybrid Mask Connection Problem

Post by ericlhyman » Wed Feb 25, 2009 10:36 pm

I just received a Hybrid Mask, which the DME mailed to me, as a replacement for the Comfort Gel FF that was irritating my nose bridge. The hybrid mask does not seem to connect to the tubing that came with my Respironics M Pro. I tried taking the swivel tube off the end of the Hybrid Mask and reversing it and the Respironics tubing still will not fit on it. What is the solution for this problem?

There should be 2 pieces that come between the actual mask and the hose... one that connects directly to the mask and one that slips inside that (tightly)... sounds to me like you're missing a piece. The first one has a bend in it and the second one is straight. The hose doesn't fit over the bent one... it will fit over the straight one.

It turns out that a piece from the Comfort Gel mask was tightly lodged in the Respironics hose. Once that was removed, the Hybrid tubing fit in.
