Bah! My used "a-flex" is a "plus".

Post by TSSleepy » Sat Feb 21, 2009 4:41 pm

I'm not patient enough to wait months for my medical care provider to finish diagnosing me and getting me a cpap, so I bought a used "RemStar M-Series Auto with A-Flex" off the internet.

It arrived in the mail today and is an "M-Series Plus CPAP with C-Flex" with 929 blower hours on it. No "auto" for self-titration and no smart card. Boo!

Damn the FDA for requiring prescriptions for an air pump! This is a lot worse (and more expensive) than scoring weed in college 20 years ago. Not that I'd know.

Oh well, I was just playing around with it in bed (the CPAP!!!), and I'm going to give it a try at 10 cm H2O and C-Flex 3 tonight and see if I can last the night.

I'll wear my SPO PulseOX 7500 and see if my nasty REM O2 desats go away. Wish me luck!

Why would you just accept this being ripped off? Do something about it! I am selling a real M-series Auto with A-flex but not giving it away which seems to be what the people on cpapauction expect.

I stumbled across the "water flame" art when looking for a wall-paper. I believe the artist is L. Claret. There is also a match, a zippo, and a gas burner that looks pretty cool.

And yeah, I'm annoyed I didn't get what was advertised. But I got it real cheap, and I don't think that the person misrepresented the model on purpose. So I'm gonna roll with it. It gives me a CPAP to try that will hopefully give me some treatment and let me work out the kinks, while I wait for my health care provider to get off their asses.

It's been two weeks since my "urgent" sleep study, and they still haven't scored it. And I hardly slept in the study and never entered REM, so when they bother to score it...they're just going to want to start over from scratch. Idiots! Maybe I'll get a prescription in another couple months.

I have purchased several items from cpapauction and go frequently to see what is selling.

In my opinion, nobody expects something for free. Most items go for a fair price and what the market is willing to bear. I have seen machines bring more than what I thought they were worth on the site. After all, many times you are taking a risk that the machine is not was described, may have more hours, etc. and there is no warranty. If you are expecting new price for your machine -- then yeah people aren't going to buy it on an auction when there is no guarantee of what they are buying.

I hear you there. They sent me in for a sleep study ASAP and then took almost 2 months to get back to me about it. When I left the sleep lab, I was told that they found some problems and I would be contacted in about 2 weeks for CPAP. I finally got tired of waiting and called them. Then they acted like they were just about to call me about it - right. I then had to call the DME to get them in gear 2 weeks later. Don't even ask about the pulmonary function test that took 6 months for the results to come in.

I say pick up the phone and bug them about it!

I am talking about people wanting to pay half-price for a machine less than a month old and under 100 hours or less with a copy of the receipt from a seller with several perfect feedback.

Yeah - I thought the same thing and with the economy I guess I just picked the wrong time to buy and sell. They sold much better last year.

Anyway - I don't want to discuss it anymore and/or take over this thread.

I would not accept getting ripped off as bad as this person says they did.

Are you complaining because no one bid on it or because people actually wrote to you to complain about the price?

TSSleepy,

I think that is so cool that you are going ahead and getting therapy while waiting for you test results. Way to go!
