Greetings!
I am a newbie on this board. A TSA agent pointed me to this!
I have been using a CPAP machine for an year. Succesfully. I travel a lot - average 2 nights/week.
I currently have a Remstar Pro M series (400M).
I am planning to buy a machine for travel, so that I do not have to unplug and pack the home machine. I do NOT carry the humidifier when I travel.
Question 1: Should I get exaclty what I currently have (without the humidifier) or should I go the less expensive versions?
Question 2: What is the best place to get the best value?
Thanks in advance,
SKG
Buying a CPAP for travel
Re: Buying a CPAP for travel
If you've purchased the software and card reader and plan on keeping track of your data, then I'd go for at least what you've got already.
Otherwise if you go with another company, then there is more software, etc.

Re: Buying a CPAP for travel
Why not use the same thing you have if it is working for you. The 400 can be found cheaply compared to what some of us will pay for what we need. This site is part of a site that sells equipment and has auctions for people who sell equipment. There is also a web site for a place I believe in Minnesota that sells gently used equipment. I just looked and see a used M seried 200 for $199.00 and a used 400 series for $225.00 unless I am wrong the only difference is that the 400 has full recording capability and auto matic altitude adjustment which would be a good idea if you travel alot and are going to use this one for travel. They also list a humidifer for $90 on there. I would stick with the humidifier if you use one at home. Don't fix something that isn't broke or you will break it. Use the same that you use at home, the humidifier isn't that big.
Check the auction part of this web site and the store front. The place that has used cpap is http://www.secondwindcpap.com/
Good luck.
