Clinical Guide for Resmed Autoset II?

Post by riverdreamer » Fri Feb 13, 2009 4:17 pm

Hi!
I've been lurking for a bit, learning while waiting for my titration study and treatment. Last week I got my equipment, the Resmed Autoset II with a Swift II nasal pillow mask. I was very pleased with my DME, who didn't eve blink an eye when I asked for the Autoset. I did ask her for the Clinician's guide, which she sent me after checking with my doctor. It turned out, though, to only be the quick set up guide. I was hoping there was something that explained more how the machine worked, and why you would use certain settings. Does such a thing exist? Anybody have one?

This board is right up my alley. I have been dealing with various chronic conditions for over 15 years, but only recently had sleep apnea suggested to me when my echocardiogram came back showing pulmonary hypertension, with no obvious cause. I am used to having to learn and fight for treatment, as it seems I only get "designer" diseases that the doctors don't know much about. My sleep doctor thought my mild sleep apnea wouldn't need treatment. My AHI may not be very high, but my arousal index is, and a trial on CPAP made a difference, so I decided to give it a shot. CPAP is FAR from the worst treatment I've had to comply with, so why not?

Anyway, thanks for all the info on this board, and if anyone has the clinical guide, I would much appreciate you sharing.

Usually, RestedGal is the resource for lots of those things. You should easily find her and give her a PM.

Send me a PM with your email and I will forward the Clinical Guid for the AutoSet.

It may take me a little while, but you will get it...

I'm in the same boat here. While waiting for my DME to order the equipment that I forced my doctor to Rx, I found this link through google: http://kd1ca.net:82/cpap/manuals/ResMed ... oSetII.pdf. I've been reading up.

Good luck!
