chin strap

Post by library teacher » Thu Feb 12, 2009 8:25 am

I have a deluxe chin strap about 2 1/2 inches wide that really just smothers me. So, I fixed a new one for last night. I bought a one inch strip of elastic and cut it to the desired length to wrap under my chin and around the edge of my face to the top of my head. I then took a ladies cloth head band that was already doubled, cut a slit in it, and ran the elastic through it. I then hand sewed the two edges of elastic together. This worked very well for me and felt much better than the deluxe bought one. I didn't breathe through my mouth, and I slept all night. Of course this could be done with fabric and a sewing machine, but this was very quick and easy. Maybe this is an idea for others who are having trouble with chin straps.

Sounds like a really ingenious solution.

Can you post a picture?

I bet if Rested Gal is watching there may be a lab rat award in the making here.

You've become a Lab Rat, library teacher! Would love to see pictures of "the making" of it and the finished product.
