Since starting CPAP, I've noticed some other effects other than just feeling better.
1) No more night sweats! I have always had trouble with sweating when I sleep, but since starting CPAP I have been able to wear the same set of pajamas for more than one night. There were times that I would have to change half-way through the night.
2) No more waking up to run to the bathroom. This is pretty common from what I've read on the forum, but I still appreciate the effect.
3) Dreams, Dreams, and more Dreams. This is the longest I've ever gone without nightmares and I can't remember ever having dreams without some bizzare twists involved.
4) Food cravings at odd times of the day and night have dropped off considerably as well as a reduction in my appetite. Is the appetite reduction normal? Not that I'm complaining or anything, I could stand to lose some weight.
5) Almost forgot this one. In the past, I always needed to feel air moving on me in order to have any semblance of sleep. I always seemed to have a fan blowing on me at night, which really bugs my wife. Since starting CPAP, the fan has been turned off because now it just doesn't do anything for me anymore. Sleep just fine without it.
I'm still just a newbie on this subject, I'm still reading everything I can get my hands on to learn about what I'm dealing with. Fortunately, this forum provides the easiest to understand information so far. Thanks everyone for your insight and assistance. We newbs need all the help we can get.

Now that you mention it, I'm not waking up with a headache as often either. Used to be a common thing for me. Also I have been more outgoing & talkative than usual. The boss noticed that one at work last week.

Yes!! All common:-)
1) Deeper sleep, body temp lowering like it's supposed to:-)
2) your apnea's not waking you up:-)
3) You're sleeping long enough to get decent REM cycles, not the short violent bursts your body's been forced to get:-)
4) Humans are fueled by two things, sleep, and food. Not enough of one, get more of another. Get enough of one, less of another!:-)
5)....cool:-P lol
congrats on a better rest of your life!!!:-)
