I started waking up with these sticky booger looking things on my face and other stuff and thought it was some really sticky snot since I had just had a cold. When I kept finding them I took a close look at everything and when I looked close at my fairly new Papcap I found that prior to sewing the velcro on it is apparently glued on with something and that sticky goo was coming out and leaving these sticky boogers on everything. So I tried washing it and no help as the goo is still there. I wonder if this Goo is a safe chemical also especially since it is wrapped around my head and I am allergic to everything.

I just made my own cap. It resembles a shower cap but made with cotton.Browser wrote:I started waking up with these sticky booger looking things on my face and other stuff and thought it was some really sticky snot since I had just had a cold. If you know someone with a sewing machine have them make a couple that have velcro sewn in without glue. That's probably the safest way. At least you will know what you are getting.

My mom-in-law is a pro when it comes to sewing and has several machines. I just use either the Respironics wide white band or the black premium chinstrap and they work good for me now. Not a big fan of wearing caps anyway. Just curious if anyone else ran into this.

I've had two papcaps, but they are both earlier models.
I still use one of them, but have never noticed any glue on either.
(The one was too small, so I gave it to a sleep center
so they could try it out.)
It sounds like somewhere in the process of assembly, they
may have used a fixative to keep the velcro on the cap while
they sew it. There are fixatives that wash out after sewing,
but yours may not have been done with that type.
You may want to ask sleepguy about it.

The exact same thing happened to me. We used some pre-cut Velcro loop pieces for the temples that were self-adhesive. I didn't realize this would happen until it was too late. For me it has been a minor inconvenience. The adhesive is from the Velcro manufacturer. Sorry about that. For anyone with this problem, feel free to send it back (PO Box 95245, South Jordan, UT 84095) and I will have the pieces replaced and the old adhesive removed and ship it back to you.Browser wrote:No one else has seen this?

Hi Bret - I may take you up on it and mail it to you when I return from my trip. If anyone wants it they can send $5.00 in US through paypal enough to cover mailing it to you and you can have it and send it to Bret or fix it yourself. It is the Papcap II Voyager. I can mail it Saturday USPS.
I prefer to send it to someone who has helped me or others and doesn't have one so PM me and I will respond.
I am not much of a cap person I found. But I hate for it to go to waste.
