6 week update

Post by rwalker » Tue Feb 03, 2009 1:58 am

Hi

Been on CPAP for 6 weeks now and after trying many full face masks i have settled for the liberty, i get a few nose leaks but taping up does the trick. I am at the moment getting on average 5 and half hrs sleep with the mask on, i seem to wake up inbetween 4 and 5 with wind problems, sometimes i get back to sleep other times i can't so i have to remove my mask. I am not really feeling much benefit at the moment but hope as time goes on will do. How am i doing ? is this all normal. Got 1st review with consultant on the 11th Feb so need to be positive as we lose license here in UK, i need it to be positive so he can tell me in his opinion i can drive again.

Rich

Once you get the right mask and get all the leak issues fixed it can take a good 6-8 weeks to feel better, some don't take that long...some take much longer. It sounds like you're doing fine. It's hard to tell just what's going on with out the data. Look for small improvements in how you feel. Even the smallest improvement is a good thing.
