CPAP Support Group Meeting - Menomonee Falls WI

Post by AuntieNae » Thu Jan 29, 2009 12:29 pm

Somehow, since I did not have my sleep study in their lab, I have not been on the mailing list for the CPAP Support Group Meeting. I have attended the past three meetings and have learned a little bit at each one. We had a meeting this past Tuesday evening that was exactly what many of the regular's needed! They had a representative from Respironics who is also an RT give a "show and tell". She was awesome. She brought an M Series Auto with humidifier and actually took the time to explain the different units!! She also brought a series of their masks, took them out of the packages, showed how they should be fitted, and actually put them on her own face so everyone could see what they should look like! Bravo!

I wanted to post this here since we now have a "set schedule" ..

Community Memorial Hospital
Menomonee Falls WI
the 4th Tuesday of the odd months

as in, our next meeting should be on Tuesday, March 24 .. 6:30-8:00 PM .. and I already have been told the topic will be, from my suggestion at the November meeting, about Pursleep and other comfort items.

I will post a shout out on the forum to confirm this meeting once the date gets closer.

We saw each other there! I was sitting center, back wall.

I hope they bring the new PAPcap. I have the old one and love it, but I'd like to see if I should buy the new model.

Facing the front, I was on the right back corner .. next to the lady with all the issues ..

We hardly had a chance to talk this past meeting .. but considering everything I have heard at past meetings, her presentation helped a number of the folks there.

I especially liked seeing the ComfortFull II mask. I think I may give it a try. I've used the ComfortGel FF in the past but had trouble with it giving me a sore on the bridge of my nose because my pressure makes the seal rigid and stand on edge. The ComfortFull II looks like it has a wider seal and may not stand up on edge under pressure like the 'Gel does.
