*[EDIT ORIGINAL POST]*
I would like to reopen this trial for 10 people to test the recently modified hose support product (Hoze Boss). It's small enough to fit in your pocket and traveling is very simple because you simply remove the Command Adhesive from the wall and leave the reels attached to the hose. To set it back up just attach the hook with a new Command Adhesive about 2 feet above the pillow. It takes seconds and the reels just pack with the hose (I've checked them through security many times without problem).
I would very much appreciate honest feedback, provided in whatever form you feel comfortable using (public or private) and have no expectation for positive reviews. If you are interested please send me an email (
bret@pursleep.com) and describe a little about your situation, why you would like to try the product, and provide a mailing address. All information will be maintained in strict confidence and will not be used for any other purpose than the trial.
The new product format looks like this and seems to work well:

Bret,
I'm looking forward to another outstanding product. I won't be traveling in the next month or so (if all of my relatives can stay alive) so will not ask to participate in this study, as I'm sure you need faster feedback. However, I am looking forward to feedback and development of your new product.

I tentatively have 4 or 5 trips planned for the coming year, the first is still in planning stages for sometime in March. The first definite one is April 30-May 4 (Penguicon 7.0).
However, I'm new to CPAP...so I have no experience with having traveled with CPAP.

Dreamer, go ahead and sign up if you want but I can't promise anything.
Question for those responding: Would you prefer a 32 Oz bottle (1 litre) or 16 Oz? My sense is that 32 would be best but I want to know what you think. The 1 litre bottle might be too big?

My trial pool for this ended up kind of on the short side of things and I'm looking for some more people to take this up for me. People like Bert have done a fantastic job testing out these products for me and offering all kinds of suggestions, tips & tricks, etc.

I tried to get the travel bottle through TSA at BWI last week. It wasn't something I want to try again. I ended up pouring the water in the trash as I just didn't want to wait for the escalation to a supervisor and the time wasted.
I feel kind of like I don't want to be the guinea pig for altercations with TSA. But I am eager to try the hose hanger on my next trip. I just didn't receive it in time for the last trip.

Could you tell us what the details of the problem were?

Darn...I was thinking of buying 1 or 2 of the bottles. Guess, I'll just settled for using whatever water I can find, even it is tap, when I travel.

It might take a little time and effort to get TSA trained up to follow their own policies and procedures. But I've been working on it.

In Dec. I went thru TSA twice. The 2nd time they confiscated my unopened coke can and the water bottle I was drinking from (right in front of them). Then right by my cpap machine ask why I had distilled water (clearly marked as such). I showed them my humidifier and told them it was for use in it. He told me he would test them to make sure they weren't peroxide and asked that I open them for him.
Meanwhile, I was asking the guy who had my coke if my flight was delayed if I could get it the can back. He gave me this lame excuse that he would be destroying it directly. I'm thinking what a racket this is - taking my unopened can and a water bottle I had sipped right in front of them but not afraid to open those? It's ok to have them if paid for on this side of the gate?
What they didn't know was I had prepared for this and put drinking water in the distilled bottles.
So I can't imagine TSA would make you dump your distilled water? You did have your humidifier with you, right?

My suggestion would be to label the bottles and such in metric units only. The medical industry typically works in SI and not US customary units. This way your products may be less subject to unreasonable scrutiny. Also many products are listed in milliliters when the amount is under a liter. For example 0.75 l would be 750 ml. It is also okay to list as 1000 ml, 1250 ml or 1500 ml, etc. Many times at the 2 liter mark most suppliers start listing fluid volumes as 2 L, 2.5 L, etc.
Hope this helps.

Why don't you have your doctor prescribe you distilled water, go to the pharmacy and have them label a bottle for you?

I wonder, would they charge me the $35 co-pay for non-generic or the $10 generic?

I haven't been able to travel through a TSA checkpoint with the papFLASK yet, but I have been using the Cozyhoze BOSS for a couple of nights at home. IT'S TERRIFIC!! I never thought I was having any hose management problems until I started using the BOSS. I had always thrown the hose over the back of the headboard on my bed to get it out of the way. In retrospect, I realize I was waking up a couple of times during the night because I either rolled over and "ran out of hose" and my mask was tugging away or the hose was covering the exhaust ports on my FFM and created a loud "hiss". With the BOSS suspending the hose above my head, I have freedom of movement, no tension on the hose and I haven't needed to adjust the hose once. It was easy to stick up on the wall and will be small enough to put in my shirt pocket when I travel. I haven't taken it off the wall yet to go out of town, but I have previous experience with the 3M Command tape and it works very well.
After I have been on the road a couple of times in the next month or two I will report back with further experience. At this point, I'M IMPRESSED!!
