100% symptom free?

Post by David » Thu Jul 21, 2005 1:47 pm

O.K I know this may sound a little naive but can the c-pap treatment ever cure symptoms 100%? I have been on 'the mask' for just under 4 months and feel much improved. However, I still have days where fatigue is an issue. Compliance isn't a problem. I don't have any major complaints with my equipment (Remstar Pro 2 with c-flex+ Breeze mask)no leaks, occasionally dry mouth handled with the help of a chin strap. A wife who love me more (again?) because I don't snore.

If the c-pap eliminates all apnea events, should I expect to feel even better over time? I'm going to talk to my Dr, about this but my bet is feedback from this form will be more insightful.

Other health issues aside, does anyone feel completely symptom free??

Patience, Grasshopper, it can take quite some time before you feel back to normal. Burning question is, however, what is normal?

Have you had a top to bottom physical lately, just to make sure that all else is functioning up to factory spec.?

I started on CPAP in Oct. '04, and switched to AutoPap in Feb. '05. I have noticed steady improvement, but it ebbs and flows. Overall, the only symptoms that I am left with are some daytime yawning (but not napping) and some periodic brain fog. If you are getting good treatment and low leak, have no other complicating factors, and are doing the whole eat-well-exercise-blah, blah, blah... you should continue to feel improvement.

I have been on CPAP for going on 20 years. It would be a matter of maybe a day or two without it that I would need it again.

Over 20 years in treatment...
Humidified REMstar Plus at 18 cm
Mirage Swift Nasal Pillow System....A Winner!
