ot: anyone have utorrent problems

Post by reefdreamer » Tue Jan 13, 2009 2:46 pm

I had to recover my whole computer system a while back due to virus problems so had to start everything from scratch. Now when I install my utorrent download program it will not work and seems to never connect right. I am not even real sure if I do the initial set up thing correctly but it seems I get my speed put in right and then I let it randomly pick a port. I know there is a way to set up the router to mine but not real sure how to do that. Everytime I open the utorrent program it locks up and says it is not responding.

Use the new version 1.8.1, You probably need to port tunnel your router, don't ask me how, I haven't got that resolved yet either. I select a port and try to tunnel it. I think I need a bigger shovel & bucket. Jim

Make sure to allow it through your firewalls. (XP has a firewall) and you probably use another one too.

I have version 1.8.1. I have it to allow it through the windows firewall but I do have another one so I will check it.

You have to set up your portforwarding, depending on your modem/router setup. I believe the website is portforward.com that lets you select which modem you have and tell you how to set it up. Any more questions, I'll try to help.
