Crazy price for ResScan 3.73 and reader

Post by MrSandman » Thu Jan 08, 2009 11:14 pm

I thought software and reader were high for Respironics. PM me if you know where to get software for less than $200 and I already searched and found the generic reader for $24. Anyone want to "trade" Encore Pro 1.8.49 for ResScan 3.73 ?

I agree. I just bought the S8 Autoset II also (yet currently have Respironics software and card reader for trade after you place yours).

Could you point me to the generic card reader for the Resmed card (which I understand is a proprietary shape).

Search Ebay for ACS ACR38 Smartcard Reader - one seller wil be found.

Then -

You will need to make your own card guide, see links below:

Not sure if it is worth the trouble to save $40.

You could try calling cpap.com and ask them if they have a lower price on the reader and software, please post here how that goes...

I have just started with the ResMed s 8 Autoset II series.
We are looking at getting the ability to pritn our own reports at home.
Do I need a card reader and the software?
Is the software ever available other than for the $190.00 from the company?
Will my computer card reader work or do I need a special car reder for this product?

THANKS FOR ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE ME;
Jo Ellen

I am in the same situation -- obviously a newbie. I bought the card and the card reader (way too much $$). Then realized you needed software to interprete the data on the card through the card reader. Seems like they should give you the software with the card reader -- otherwise why would you ever need a card reader?? CPAP.com does not sell the bundle I have found.

Has anyone ever purchased the software from Australia? I don't know if their version is the same but it sure is less expensive. But you have to call as you can't purchase it on-line. Where are people getting this software? Anyplace in the US that sells it at a discount?

I think my equipment is listed. If not it is the ResMed Autoset II, the Swift LT, and the Hi4. And a data card and reader that are, at present, doing me no good. I figured it would come up as a drive under Windows Explorer. Not So I am copying down the data each day (figured out how to get into clinical thanks to a member).

This is my first post so hope it goes through or someone reads it. I can't figure out how to edit my profile at this point.

Thanks

Some of you *may* find after you have the ResScan software that it was not worth the price for what additional information it does provide.

What additional information it provides me with that I find useful:

-When the large leaks occurred during the night.

-When the apneas occurred and how long they were.

-What the pressure was running at during various points during the night.

My routine now is as follows:

-If the numbers on the LCD are reasonable in the morning then I don't do anything else.

-If the numbers are somewhat high and I want to see what is going on I will download the data and have a look with ResScan to see when the apenas occurred and if I can relate that to some event.. like being awake.
