Machine question

I have the Remstar Plus m series machine with a card in it. Is this card only showing hours I have used the machine or will it show leaks, apneas etc.? When I asked the DME she said it will just show the doctor how much I have used it and leak problems. She said it doesn't show apneas because it is not a testing machine. I have just seen people on here mentioning how with the card reader and software they are able to view apneas, leaks etc. so I am just confused.

if you have the PLUS - you won't get leaks, won't get apneas etc.

you only get compliance data

you need a Pro m series or the APAP to get "real" data - these are the m series machines people need the card reader and software for - not the PLUS

The Plus is compliance data capable only. It won't provide any information of value to you. Any Respironics w/a Plus in its name is compliance data capable only. You would want the Respironics (pre-M series) Pro II w/C-Flex or the Respironics M Series Pro w/C-Flex to get full data capability as you want. If you've had this Plus 30 days or less, take it back to your supplier and insist it be exchanged for the Respironics M Series Pro w/C-Flex. The Pro is compatible w/the integrated humidifier that came w/the M Series Plus.

You might even want to call your insurance company and ask what local DME CPAP suppliers they are contracted with. If you have the option of more than one local supplier that gives you a lot more bargaining/negotiating room. Shop your options and see who is willing to give you the equipment you want and who provides a lenient mask exchange policy. Good luck.
