THE BLUE LIGHT

Post by ofarchesandants » Wed Nov 26, 2008 12:07 am

Since i've seen so many complain about the blue light on the respironics m series cpap it's making me wonder. I have that machine too for a couple months now. I've been doing the same thing with it as i've done with my digital clock for many, many years, namely place a towel over it? It certainly never hurt the clock and doesn't seem to harm the cpap either. Despite such a seemingly simple remedy, given the light causes problems for so many, I'm wondering if there in fact is an issue i am unaware by covering my machine. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Gregg )

I too have 'the towel' - I don't know why the damn lights are so bright. I was tinking of just putting sticky 'price dots' on the buttons

The only concern I would have would be placing a towel tightly over the entire machine so that it cannot vent and thus causing it to overheat, but I place a folded washcloth over just the blue lights and, I agree, I don't see that it causes any problems.

Been doing the folded wash cloth thing for 9 months now with no problems, just make sure the towel doesn't hang over the back where the air intake is.

We fashioned a handy dandy blue light cover. It was a clear plastic cover from some office supplies, about the same size as the blue lights. A quick spray of black paint, and there it is. it sits on top of those dang blue lights and all is good.

Some people have a major aversion to "the lights" and complain about them whenever possible!! For others like me, it's not an issue at all. Then there are those who are bothered by the blue lights, cover them up, and that's the end of it.

I use a strip of black electrical tape (3M 33+) to cover the buttons. I small pinprick in the tape will allow you to see if the LED is on.

I managed to place the unit on a side table where the light isn't so bothersome, but I do use a sock over the same blue light that's on my air purifier so I know how lights can be annoying. The only problems with using a towel I can think of is you could push the wrong one inadvertently, which would be irritating, or if you have a cat like I do that eats towels

Pity the poor blue lights and the BRICK ....

...always the beacons of saftey in the dark of the night......

and the BRICK , powerful, independant, standing alone against your OSA,
always there to power the motors
and the doped silicone intelligence
that keeps your brain safe.....

.........so misunderstood ...........so disrespected ......
