In need of more prayers...

Post by yorkiemum01 » Sat Nov 15, 2008 6:11 pm

As many of you already know, a month ago (to the day) my parents were
involved in a bad car accident, but I'm pleased to report they're slowly recouping
at home with me.
Yesterday, my brother, David, was injured in an accident, and I'm again in need of some
prayers. He was truly in the wrong place....at the wrong time, and it was a freak
accident. We're all grateful he's alive, but he has a fractured pelvis, hip, and vertebrae,
as well as broken tailbone.

This was the news report:
SHELBY - Bystanders looking over a flipped boat, cracked moped, van, truck and trailer on Elizabeth Avenue attempted to make sense of it all. But with every new onlooker came a common question that no one was able to fully explain: "What happened?"
"A white van was going toward the lake from Shelby," said Highway Patrol Trooper Ben Sanders. "It had to stop for another vehicle in front of it and the van went left of center."
Sanders said the van driver, Robert Lee Strong, of Fullerton Street, Shelby, then met Richard Clayton Hisler, of Kings Mountain. "A black pickup hauling a trailer and boat was coming from the opposite direction," said Sanders. "The van struck the trailer the boat was on and it knocked the trailer and boat sideways, which caused the boat to go sideways."
DAVID J.of Kings Mountain, just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. "There was a man standing beside a moped trying to get directions (at Millsap Road). He was looking at a map," Sanders said. "The trailer hit the moped which in turn hit the pedestrian."
Jensen was thrown about 30 feet after impact, Sanders said. Jensen's helmet wound up in a drainage ditch more than a dozen feet from the wreckage. Sanders said Jensen received a broken hip, but the trooper believed his injuries to be non-life threatening.
Strong was taken to jail after the incident, Sanders said. He was charged with exceeding safe speed for conditions and driving with a revoked license, no insurance and fictitious registration.

Thank you very much....I do appreciate it.

Cant even imagine standing on side of road and having a boat fly off the
road at you..........what a freak thing. I certainly am counting all
our blessings, but hoping and praying 2009 will be a quiet peaceful year.

Glad to hear your parents are doing well, but this new incident . . . some things are stranger than fiction. . . .

But good thoughts coming your way from Wisconsin. Your family has truly earned a year of peace.

Prayers headed your way from central Tennessee. What a strange accident.

It's been a truly wierd week. My wife and I were driving past a meadow in a nearby state park Friday when a cropduster plane crash landed about 50 feet from us. Pilot was fine.

Add my prayers also, from about 3 or so hours north of you in Virginia. (My wife is a direct descendant of the Gen. Shelby, after which Shelby is named, on her mom's side, and we go through your neck of the woods when we travel to Atlanta, where my daughter lives). I will tell all I can around here to add this to their prayer list.

Deerslayer...you are sooooooo right...in a flash, it can all be lost. We truly believe
and angel has been watching over our family, and we count those blessings every day.
Thank you ALL for the prayers, its greatly appreciated, and so heartwarming to login
here and read all your kind and thoughtful words.

Packitin...thats so cool to hear your wife's heritage to Shelby. I live about an hour
from my brother, in Huntersville, and love the Carolinas. The history is rich in this
region, and the folks here are truly some of the most caring people I've met in my
lifetime. My neighbor is a retired teacher from WV, and he and his wife are the salt
of the earth, and we're blessed to have them as neighbors and friends.

Thank you all.

Good thoughts from Finlad too.
I have seen a glimpse of what it is, when it looks like terrible things piles up on the same people like
nothing were enough.

Try to stay strong.
