I don't like "lurking"...

Post by MGA531 » Tue Nov 04, 2008 3:07 pm

So I thought I'd say hi. I'm new to the CPAP world. I've been snoring for years and recently my wife told me she thought she heard me stop breathing a few times. So, after a visit to my doctor and a night at the Endeavor Sleep Clinic in Mequon, Wi... here I am. They set me right up with the equipment listed below. I tried the Respironics gel mask first and it caused a tremendous amount of pain to area directly below my nose due to an old injury. So, I was able to switch to the nasal pillow. So far, so good. The process is a bit frustrating, but I'm getting used to it. I haven't had the miraculous quality-of-life improvement over night, but I am starting to see an increase in my energy which is getting me through my days better. My pressure is set at 13, and 7 with the ramp.

Thanks for the great site, Its been very helpful and supportive so far.
Thanks for having me.

-Mike

Yeah, we don't like lurkers either. When we discover them, we call the police.

Welcome to the board!

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula. :)

I lurked for a while. Well, until Babs called the police on me.

Lurkers are welcome, but it's nicer getting to know you.

Pleased to meet you, Mike.

Glad to hear you're experiencing improvement. Whether it happens overnight, or in small steps, that's what it's all about.

Mike,

I use nasal pillows too. They DO take some getting used to at first, don't they!

How long have you been on the hose? What suggestions here have you found that have helped the most so far?

I thought I recognized those panties... Well, you know you're addicted to shopping online when you buy your own used undies back...

We have a bit of a problem. with you Iconies in your profile, they don't be the same flavor, you've got apples mixed in with your oranges, that's one more reason Icons are useles, text actually gives us information. Jim

Translation: please use text in your equipment profile (not icons!)

So why don't we just ask the Admins to remove the icon option?? This is like the millionth post on this topic this week. Sigh.
