NeneTX! I see you ride! Western yet. I'm up in MI, a long way from TX. We have 2 red dun QH mares and a red chestnut Paint gelding. I can never remember Overo from Tobiano as I'm not a spotted horse fan whether Paint, Pinto or Appy. I'm the lazy type. The less white the better. A pretty star is nice. Even one low white sock. But that's pretty much my limit. Of course, you can't ride color or markings ..... so ... we ended up w/that Paint gelding 'cause he could do what we needed and wanted a horse to do.

TMJ and bruxism (teeth grinding) are not the same thing... ask your MD to explain the difference to you.

Yeah...ummmm....pretty aware of the difference. Both are a possible issue. Still didn't answer my question/provide any insight.

If your bruxism keeps you awake by grinding or your TMJ keeps you awake from pain, this may affect your lab. If this is already affecting your sleep, you may want to tell your sleep doc. You could always try a night-guard if you haven't tried one yet. You'll likely be allowed to take any medications you ordinarily take, like aspirin or melatonin, and most prescriptions. I wore a night guard on my sleep lab. Sleep well and good luck.

Don't know for sure, but I'd have to imagine it would affect it. I say that because when I had my sleep test, they told me that some of the gadgets they put on me were meant to measure whether or not I ground my teeth. If that didn't affect anything, there wouldn't be a need to test for it.

I'm not sure which issue I have, but I wear a bite-guard at night because I grind my teeth. The sleep lab had me wear it when they did my test and everything was fine.

i read some anecdotes on this forum once that the teeth grinding went away after starting CPAP therapy. You might try doing a search on the forum for 'teeth grinding' or similar. I don't know about TMJ, but again you might try a search.
You can use the search tool on this site, or go to google and type in your search string following by [ site:cpaptalk.com ]
