I just started on CPAP one week ago. I currently have the ResMed Ultra Mirage full face mask and it is not working for me at all! I have tried many different adjustments but just cannot find a comfortable fit and I hate the fact that I can't wear my glasses once it is on since I enjoy reading before falling asleep. I am considering switching to the ResMed Mirage Liberty mask which is the mouth mask with the nasal pillows. It looks as though it is less cumbersome, I'll be able to wear my glasses and hopefully sleep on my side without the mask cutting into my cheek! Is there anyone out there that is using the Libery mask? I'd appreciate any feedback I can get.

Mask Issues
Re: Mask Issues
Hi Mitsi83: I've purchased and tried around 5 different masks. The latest one from Resmed called "Swift LT" is the most comfortable, least intrusive, non-leaking mask I've used.

I'ts not cheap, but I believe you get what you paid for ($119 with one size nose pillow or $159 with all sizes). I use the medium nose pillow. It's very light and doesn't irritate my nose.
By the way, I like to read before falling asleep too, but I don't put the mask on until I'm done reading. The mask I described (above) only takes about 5 seconds to put on, so there's no need to put it on until I'm actually ready to sleep.
Hope this was helpfull to you .......
Denny

Re: Mask Issues
Before you BUY a Liberty, you might contact forum member Pjwalman about her Hybrid Test Drive. I've read more good reviews on the Hybrid here than about the Liberty.
I tried the Hybrid, had one good night, then could never replicate it. I ended up trading it to a forum member for the Nasal Aire II, and I've slept with it exclusively ever since.
I run a free Test Drive for the Nasal Aire II Mask.
Check out my Nasal Aire II Tip Sheet in my sig line. If you scroll all the way through the thread, you'll find lots of info about the trial:

Also, see pix of how I wear the mask here:

Basically - you send me:
Your real name
Your snail mail addy
Your offline email addy
Your phone number (this is for emergency use only – I keep it confidential)
I'll put you on the list and tell you approximately where you are in terms of getting the mask.
When the person ahead of you on the trial is ready to send it to you, I'll email them your info. They will then email you that it's coming.
You pay the postage to pass it along to the next person. When you're done testing it out, you email me, and ask for the info for the next person on the list. Your only cost is the price of postage to send it along.
Feel free to PM me!
Cheers,
Barbara/Babette

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula.

Re: Mask Issues
In what regard? Do you have it too tight? In many cases, the "bed pillow" can make a huge difference. There are some that were specifically designed for, or adapt well to CPAP users.mitzi83 wrote:I just started on CPAP one week ago. Re: Mask Issues
I got it for a steal on CPAPauction (like more than 75% off the listed price), which is why I bought it. I knew if I hated it I could send it around for the greater good. And I still get to take it off on my taxes!
