Nose mask vs Swift LT

Post by shardebhow » Mon Oct 13, 2008 1:26 pm

I am a CPAP user for about a year. The first mask I tried was an Opus nasal pillows. It just didn't work for me. I tried all sizes of pillow and could not get them to fit in my nose correctly without leakage. I then swapped them in for a Resperonics nasal mask which I used for awhile but the mask was too big for my face. When I was ready for a new mask I got the Resmed Micro Mirage in a small. It fit better on face. It felt like I was not getting enough air though. I am now ready for a new mask. It was suggested that I try the Swift LT. When I said that nose pillow did not work for me before, I was told that I haven't tried the Swift LT. Has anyone who had nose pillow problems in the fast find success with the LT?

Any thoughts are welcome.

Thanks,
Sharon

I had trouble with the Breeze2 and now successfully use nasal pillows on the CL2. For me, I needed to use one size larger than I thought I needed and made certain the seam didn't touch my nares. I just let the pillows puff up around my nostril and I don't even have irritation.

I used to use the swift II and have since switched to the LT. I find it less obtrusive and am now able to "almost" bury my head into the pillow. Smaller footprint than the swift II as well, although I do like the fit of the swift II's nasal pillows better than that of the LT.
