Machine stopped recording data?

Post by jmaziarz » Sun Oct 05, 2008 8:14 am

I have a M-Series APAP w/A-flex and have been reading my own data for a little over a month. I inserted the card into the reader this morning and EncoreViewer says the last day of data is September 30, 2008. Today is October 5th! The data card was inserted properly so where could the data be? I brought the card in to have it read at my DME and they left the data on the card and did not erase the card. Is it necessary to erase the card after some amount of days?

Yes & No - the card maxes out somewhere close to 1 year, I think it is. If you are certain the card was fully inserted check the gold contacts for oxidation, a light rub with a pencil eraser will clean any oxidation.

The format tool from mycpap.org may also be useful in your situ. esp. if the card data was corrupted -

Keep trying it each day and post back.

I don't know if the problem is the M Series "missing data" problem or not. I had it for a couple of days several months ago, shortly after I began using the software etc.

I use the format tool that Guest mentioned once a week on a Sunday morning and have not lost any data since ---except for one night I forgot to put the card back in and one night when I did not have it seated correctly!

Might work for you.

The M Series machines are infamous for dropping nights of detailed data.....frequently TWO at a time.....I've even heard THREE. IF the summary/compliance data is there in the reports, then it's the "two-nights vacation" issue. If there is NO compliance data on your reports for those nights, then it's another issue.

If you have the software and reader, why go to the DME to have your card read, give them the compliance print out, that's all they need, if that. They may have given you back another patients card. Jim
