Machine Problems
Machine Problems
I have a resmed bipap pro machine. A few night ago water got into my machine from my humidifier. I took it to my Home health place and they ran it and worked on it and checked my pressures and said it was ok. However, ever since then, I have noticed that I am losing pressure after about 3 or 4 hours and my husband says I am starting to snore, which I NEVER did before the water got in there. Could this be something with my machine because of the water? Any help would be great. Thanks!
Re: Machine Problems
That is NOT a Resmed device. I assume you are talking about the Respironics M Series Pro w/C-Flex or the previous model the Respironics RemStar Pro. If it is the M Series Pro, that device is well known for the problem w/its integrated humidifier. Your local DME supplier SHOULD have contacted Respironics about a replacement Pro. Insist your supplier check your Pro's pressure output w/a manometer. Or call Respironics yourself to complain. Good luck!

Re: Machine Problems
My educated guess is that water got into the internal pressure sensing tube (a small dia air tube that runs from the main air circuit to the pressure sensing chips). A drop of water is all it takes & what happens is the drop moves up & down in the tube as pressure changes & has the effect of skewing the real pressure delivered. In many cases the water will evaporate away but that depends a lot on the machine environment.erbelady wrote:I have a resmed bipap pro machine. These machines (if similar to the older Resp models in the way they are assembled) should be very easy to take apart as that is the only way I know how to confidently check the internal pressure sensing tube & clear it. I haven't taken apart an M series so there is always the possibility this part of the circuit is different but again based on educated guess - the internal small airline will be as I described).
Good luck
