New Doc and Upgraded Machine

Post by adrienneiii » Fri Sep 26, 2008 5:17 pm

Celebration time! I found (with my family doctor's encouragement) a new, accredited sleep doctor who is in-network for my insurance. More importantly, he appears to know what he is doing, and even better, he listens. I came away with a prescription for a data-capable machine and a slight change in pressure. Without the knowledge gained online, especially in this forum, there is no way this would have happened so fast. (The prequel to this post is at viewtopic.php?f=1&t=34473.)

Many, many thanks to all for the knowlege and for the community.

Since I already had a machine, I opted to exchange it at my existing DME for an upgraded model. Yes, I had to pay them the difference between the two machines because the DME was certain that insurance wouldn't pay, but I've spoken with the people at my insurance, and, well, the fat lady hasn't yet sung her final note on that issue.

Anyway, I now have a new, data-capable machine and a doc who appears to know his stuff and is willing to work with me regarding the data. Can't complain about that.

Regards,
A.
