Mt.Evans is just west of Denver. It has the highest paved road in
the lower 48. The ride starts at Echo Lk.,10.1K' and ends at the summit, 14.2K'.
I thought I had waited too long. A ride up Mt.Evans, anytime of the year, is a
grand adventure. I have been rained/snowed/freezing rained on everytime I have done it.
Today, intermitten thunderstorms forecast, it will be a gamble.
I lucked out. I got a little pop-corn snow on the way up.
I raced the pop-corn snow/rain on the way down.
Leaving the parking area at Echo Lk. lodge, 52degF.
Arrival at the summit, 35degF.
Come on and ride along.
Termination dust in Chicago Basin.

The road ahead and The Prize.

Summit /storm clouds very close

Heading down the long and winding road

Racing the storm

Chicago Basin headwall and the road home

Termination dust on Epaulet Mt.

The rain caught me about a mile from the car and the road was completely
wet when I got to the car.....perfect.
I love cycling.
