Using A Full Face Mask???
Wondering if even minor mouth leaks after taping would be causing my continued tiredness. Would using a FF mask create even MORE aerophagia(at 11.4-12 cm pressure)than my Opus with mouth taped?? I am still feeling tired and am searching for some alternative that might help. Thanks!!!

Grumpygirl,
Have you ever had your adrenals checked? Check this out and see if it applies to you : http://www.adrenalfatigue.org/
I think that years of undiagnosed sleep apnea can cause havoc on all parts of your body. You might need a little vitamin help to get you back to where you were.
Good luck, and keep searching for your answer.

Bev may have something there. I have a two-fold problem, pain from Chronic Hyperventilation and Tramatic Myositis, and probably some myofascial referred pain in there too. When I get this all going, I get sleepy, and we are still trying to pinpoint the core problem when the eyelids start to flutter and down I go. Without half a doz. meds. I am down for hours.
However, you probably should see an endocronologist. (is that how you spell it?) One who studies hormones and organ functions. Don't just go by one guy's pet (Sorry Bev) because I have thought I've had a dozen things wrong with me and a lot of it turns out to be the CHRONIC HYPERVENTILATION SYNDROME I suffer from. Think also if you are not getting enough oxygen to the brain at night and you are breathing faster and screwing up your O2/CO2 levels while you sleep. This is CHRONIC HYPERVENTILATION. During the day, do you breath through your mouth al the time? Look it up, get your levels checked, even the Vit D and calcium levels arterial. See a specialist. And if you have a trusty sleep partner, ask them to check on your sleep pattern about an hour or so after you're asleep. If they can observe your breathing patterns and if your nostrils are flaring, you might just be suffering from lack of air.
Worth a try.

I started cpap w/Optilife/polident strips.... YIKES .....
BUT, it got me started.
I was aero, bad, with the pillows.
Once I switched to a ffm, the aero is just about none existant.
I think that is because, as I have adjusted to the ffm and the suppport it gives
me below my lower lip, I have trained myself to keep the tongue planted to the
top of my mouth and everything stays sealed.
Once I made the adjustment to the ffm, my therapy results improved......on a hugh scale.
....and for someone that had a claustrophobic panic/fear attack at the thought of
a ffm, that has been a major accomplishment.
I'm working through the different size ffm's now to see which one is going to be the best for me.
There are just too many options w/cpap, to be denied this therapy.
"If your therapy is improving your health but you're not doing anything
to see or feel those changes, you'll never know what you're capable of."
I said that.

I think you guys may be on to something about the adrenal fatique. I checked out the site Outasync suggested and I fit almost ALL of the symptoms of adrenal fatique. I even have the low blood pressure too. I'm going to do a little more research today to see what more I can find out. THANKS SO MUCH for the tip!!! Maybe I can finally get some relief!!

I ordered a full mask face mask. My dad uses a full face mask and likes it very much. I love sleeping on my stomach, and that's not going to be possible.I do have a Temper pedic memrory foam mattress. I wonder if I could cut a hole all the way through it,wedge my mask and sleep with my head burried in the mattress LOL, just kidding.

Donny, I have a flexifit 432 full face mask,I am a stomach sleeper as well. I have been able to stomach sleep with this mask. Now I am fighting mask leaks but that seems to happen whether I am on my back or stomach. I just had my 2 week follow-up and my number were much better. So I guess this thing is working after all.
