Respironics smartcard

Post by rasch62 » Fri Sep 05, 2008 10:30 am

This is my first post, so please bear with me. I recently started using a Respironcs auto bipap serires M with Resmed Swift LT nasal pillows. After struggling with a CPAP for over a year, my doctor suggested I try a bipap machine. During that period, neither my doctor nor my CPAP provider mentioned the Smartcard nor did they indicate the wealth of info I could get from the card. I "found" this forum about a week ago and have been enlightened and impressed by the knowledge on this forum. I now realize that I am one of many sleep apnea sufferers with little help from my doctor in assessing my sleep apnea. I have been able to tolerate therapy for 7-8 hours a night, but my AHI has been between 10-15 . Using the new bipap machine, my AHI is 7-8.

Based on the forum, I think I should try to get my AHI below 5 and have decided to adjust the settings on my bipap. Thanks to "rested gal" I now have the providers manual. But before I begin "adjusting" I want to get the correct software and card reader to access detailed sleep info.

Sorry about the long story, but my question is: What is the best software and reader to get for a Respironcs auto bipap M series machine with an Encore Pro Smartcard?

Thanks in advance, Ron
