So I have a CPAP with a humidifier (I guess we all do), and it works great in Denver where I live, a very dry climate. When I travel, which I do a lot, sometimes I end up in a humid climate, and inevitably I get terrible rainout. I have the humidifier on the lowest setting (setting #1, and that's what I have it on at home and on the road), and I have one of those knitted hose sleeves to help with the rainouts, but for whatever reason, when I'm in a relatively humid climate, I spend about 1/2 of the night breathing water.
So my question is: Do I even need the humidifier in humid climates? When I first got my CPAP, I forgot to turn on the humidifier for about 2 consecutive days at home in Denver, and my voice disappeared becuse of the lack of a humidifier.
Do others use their humidifier in humid climates and to what success?
Thanks,
Matt

Re: Need humidifier in humid climates?
Two things to try -
1. Turn the humidifier past 1 to OFF. This is called passive, where the air will pick up some moisture but not as much.
2. Don't put water in the chamber.
Life is all about what works for YOU!!!
Don't worry about what others are doing

Where I live, in Southwestern Ontario (Canada), it can get very humid in the summer and very cold and drier in the winter. I use my humidifier in passover mode right now and feel better with it like that during these humid months. I will be adding some heat when the cold weather gets here and it is drier. That works best for me.

Re: Need humidifier in humid climates?
I recently started using my humidifier in passover mode, too. I think it gives just enough humidity without the heat turned on. It's humid in SE Michigan in the summer and it's working very well. I'm happy about this due to not worrying about rainout. I suspect I'll need the heated humidifier during the very dry winters, though.
