Hybrid headgear

Post by hecate » Tue Aug 26, 2008 10:17 pm

Hi.

Has anyone done any modifications to the hybrid headgear? I am having problems with the headgear messing up my hair and it seems to big for my head. I try to tighten the straps but i run out of strap to attach the velcro to. Any ideas on how to improve the headgear both for fit and for reduced hair messes?

I have to admit, the hybrid headgear is pretty lame, though very comfortable once it's finally settled. It's not easy to put on or take off.

I'm bumping this because I'm interested too.

Well.. as if I didn't have enough to worry about, my girlfriend is a hairstylist. She was cutting my hair and said "You are thinning here, its friction alopecia " or something, I don't remember the clinical term but it means rubbing a bald spot. Lovely.. I will be watching this thread closely as I just got my hybrid where I want it after 6 months.

Maybe Padacheek(Karen) can help with a pad for the strap where the hair is thinning? Might be worth a try.

I promised myself many years ago that I would never wear pantyhose again. I never realised I might break that promise by wearing it on my head.

I find the headgear to work great and once it is set correctly I can go for months without an adjustment. The first release of the mask included a headgear which was somewhat flimsy. I hope you have the second release. This headgear is black on the outside and grey on the side that goes next to the head. If I remember correctly the first release was all black.

To protect my beautiful head of hair I wear a Buff, http://www.buffwear.com/ under the headgear. It works great, you just pull it over your head and there is no need to tie it. It is lightweight, cool and wicks moisture.

Regarding running out of strap, do you have a small head?
