Restless legs+mantyhose=improvement
If you figure out who I am, please don't call me out - I have plenty of reasons for keeping my identity a secret, but wanted to share this tip:
I've had sleep issues for nearly ten years and about one year ago was diagnosed with OSA and have been on CPAP. Things have improved, but unless I take Gabapentin, I don't stay asleep well, and if I do, my AHI numbers go up more than I want. I wake up and flip sides several times per night and my legs thrash around quite a bit. 20 years ago, I used to be an avid cyclist putting many high-intensity miles in per week. I had pretty much stopped around the time my sleep went bad (go figure). I've started back up again and made an accidental discovery. I ride hard and my old body hurts a lot. I've started soaking in the tub and massaging my legs a lot. Don't tell anyone, but I've even started wearing tights designed to improve muscle recovery after exercise. That's it - I've admitted it - I wear man-tyhose. The do work well at reducing muscle cramping and pain. I fell asleep with them on the other night and slept through without noticing my usual leg thrashing. Besides the embarassment, they aren't that comfortable or fun to wear, so I'm not sure what I'm going to do, but I wanted to pass along this for someone else to try.
If you have RLS, try wearing compression tights to sleep and see if it helps.

Re: Restless legs+mantyhose=improvement
Geez. I hope your reasons for trying to stay anonymous don't have anything to do with wearing tights/pantyhose/mantyhose, whatever. That would REALLY be silly. People are WAY too uptight about this stuff. You should feel free to do what you need or want to be comfortable, without fear of ridicule.
I'm certainly not going to pick on you. If I ever experience RLS, I'm going to remember this post...thanks for the tip.

Now if they only made compression garments for headaches...
Dude, it takes guts to be a pioneer. No shame in that.

Re: Restless legs+mantyhose=improvement
I 'just' realized that since I've become a hose-head that I haven't had restless legs which is awsome, fantabulous and just plain 'ole great!
Your post is very informative and after looking at the photo I think they may look extremely sexy with some of my outfits I will actually let my Mom know about this because she suffers horribly from restless leg syndrome but won't take medication for it. I can just see my sexy-hot-77 year old mama wearing these to bed and loving them! Thanks for your post and I have NO idea why you would be embarassed about sharing this information but I'm glad you did.

ah that's nothin!!, rooster wears tights to bed too I think he said they were pink!!!
don't worry, your secret is safe with us!!
actually at one time I was diagnosed with PAD, told by my cardiologist to wear those massage socks to keep the blood flowing, they did a angiography and found the main vein going to my legs were blocked and splinted it back open, next thing I knew hair started growing back on my legs.
I wonder how much of RLS is not related to poor circulation in the legs.

someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...

Oh Honeypup, apnea is getting to your memory. You loved my pink tights in bed.Snoredog wrote:ah that's nothin!!, rooster wears tights to bed too I think he said they were pink!!!
........
And that day I wore them in a 5k was the first race you are able to keep within 5 yards of me all the way.

Folks, that's Snoredog in the red shirt cozying up to me on the left. Speaking of left, where was his left hand?

I LOVE the pink tights, unfortunately they would clash with my hair but they look adorable on you
Re: Restless legs+mantyhose=improvement
The marketing slogan on this page states "This is NOT your mother's panty hose!":
http://www.comfilon.com/
And those sure weren't the panty hose Joe Namath and other brawny football players wore to stay warm in the cold old days either. Namath even went $o far a$ to do a televis$on commercial and photo $hoot in hi$ ordinary panty ho$e of the day. So the above AktivSkins are apparently not your father's panty hose either...

Okay, I'm sleepy and have a headache. Rooster, are you just teasing us, or is that REALLY Snoredog and you playing "hide the left hand"?
I'd tell YOU if it was ME...

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula.
Re: Restless legs+mantyhose=improvement
And speaking of those hair-clashing pink tights I have to ask about your colorful avatar, Abbi... Is that your every-day stylistic expression or is that fashion you reserve for a special occasion such as an artistic event celebrating human expression? Wondering if you have you ever been to the Burning Man Festival for instance.Abbi-Normal wrote:I LOVE the pink tights, unfortunately they would clash with my hair but they look adorable on you
Anyway, welcome aboard... You absolutely fit right in here with your great sense of humor and ultra-refreshing individuality!

I didn't realize "beautymist" was only $1.69... at that price I just might buy a case or two. Buy low, sell high!rooster wrote: Here is Joe still running that commercial on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qf3oOQq9KFU
