Could someone please recommend:
1) a favorite cpap machine -- that's quiet;
2) a comfortable face mask -- that does not leak air?
Thank you!!

Re: Machine / Mask Recommendations
They do NOT make a comfortable face mask that does not leak air. Some are better than others, but they all will leak. So you might as well accept that and try for the best you can find that will work for you. All faces are not created equally. What works for me may not work for you at all.
As far as a quiet machine some are better than others, but all the new machines on the market today are pretty quiet. If you can't tolerate the noise you can always put it in a cooler box with some air holes and set it under the bed.
They main thing is to use the machine any time you lay down for sleep. It takes some getting used to to be able to tolerate this thing strapped to your face. But with patience and brute force you can do it. Hope you have both. jim

Well, first off I would NOT accept anything less than a fully data capable xPAP. My preference is for one of the fully data capable Resmed models: Resmed S8 Elite w/EPR or better yet the just recently released Resmed S8 II Elite w/EPR.
There are those here who prefer the Respironics models in which case you could consider the Respironics M Series Pro w/C-Flex.
When it comes to masks: its a crap shoot. Call your insurance, ask what local DME CPAP suppliers they are contracted with. Hopefully you will have the option of more than one. IF so you can shop each one to see which one will provide you w/the CPAP you want AND which one has the MOST LENIENT mask exchange policy.
