New Mirage Activa Today / Questions

Hi. Just got this mask from cpap.com.

I think I should have got a medium, but according to instructions (I even sent them photos of face with ruler) they judged large.

Two things.

1. Seems the thing, even though loose, rests right above my upper lip, thus sort of pushing lower lip out (a bit.) Just feels odd. Am I alone here?

2. Air coming out of "pressure release" (?? not sure what it's called) seems pretty strong. How do I know that's right?

3. Do any of you wear the hose up? And if so, how do you get it to stay up, as in velcro (etc?)

TIA,

SAS

It sounds like they fit you correctly. Your mask should sit a little above your upper lip. The pressure on your upper teeth from the seal of the mask is something you'll get used to after using it a couple days. It is supposed to vent air out the exhaust ports on the hose. I let my hose swivel, and suspend it from a scrunchie I stole from my daughter and tacked on the wall avove my headboard. I have been very comfortable with my Activa. Best of luck with yours!

I think everything is fine. Remember that the Activa mask needs to be held loosely by the straps to work properly. Let the bellow inflation hold the cushion in place. The pressure on your upper lip should not be much.

Remember that the

Thanks.

First night was a good one. By the morning, though, I was "ready" to take it off! But it felt good. Almost, like "not there" until I rolled over once or twice.

There is something in the instructions to the effect (regarding the bellows) of "not enough" and "too much" inflation. Not sure how you would compensate for either. I'll have to look at that tonight.

But all in all, it was very comfortable. Slept like a baby boy.........
