Using Encore pro v.1.8i, is it still possible to operate a Respironics Bi-Level Pro 2 having the prescription on a Smart Card?
I have been doing this for10,000 hours but today I reformatted my smart card via mycpap.org. When I tried to create the prescription back onto the smart card the green light on the card reader turns off to red at the point of choosing "how should this device change/modification be performed?". The choices are (1) via smart card or (2) for reference only. At the moment I choose "via smart card" the green goes red.
Is it no longer possible to run a BiPap from the smart card?
Have I done something wrong? Any help is very much appreciated.

Is it still possible to put prescription on smart card?
Re: Is it still possible to put prescription on smart card?
You can't actually "store" your prescription on the card.......if you did put your machine setup configuration on the card, the moment you started your machine, it would suck the prescription off of the card and delete it. So, I have no idea why you would want to program your machine that way, either. Once the setup info is cleared from the card, the card only stores data.

When I create a new script, I pick to keep it on the card after delivery, that way the machine doesn't remove the new changes, but still stores the data. I always make any new changes to the card after reading my data via the smart card, if needed. Never had any problems with the machine deleting the prescription.

1. How did you get the new script onto the card?
2. How did you keep the script on the card after downloading data?
Many thanks, Andy

Andy when you open encore pro click on help, then click on encore pro help, then click on index. There you will find all the information on creating prescriptions or making changes and how to download data without erasing the data. Hope this helps.

Thanks, Dan
I thought I had done everything according to the directions 4 or 5 times but no result. Then I gave up and posted for forum help. Several hours later, just before bedtime, I tried to get the prescription onto the card again - and wonder of wonders,it worked. I know it's not magic, but....
Thanks again, Andy

This is why this type of thing should only be done by a DME.
