Hello all. I started my treatment about a month ago and had posted earlier a question about how to access the data on my SmartCard. The word I got was that I need a 3500 card reader and the Encore software. All makes sense.
My question now is about buying the reader. I see that the USB Encore SmartCard Reader is $139 on cpap.com, but I find it elsewhere online for $54. Appears to be the exact same reader. Am I missing something?
Thanks!

Re: Card Reader
Nope......BUT.......CPAP.COM will price-match that other source.bobby_tee wrote:Hello all. Personally, I wish they'd just lower their prices, but then it's not MY company.

Thanks, Wulfman.
On a broader topic, I have been on CPAP for about 3 weeks now, and I would have to say that I'm tolerating the treatment fine. I sleep through the night and my wife reports that my snoring is gone. All good news. But I would also have to say that I have not noticed a significant difference in how I feel when I wake up or during the day. I was never dragging myself around, but I did tend to get sleepy in the afternoons, and that seems about the same as before. Maybe slightly better, but not the really noticeable difference I was hoping for once I started CPAP. I guess I'll be able to tell more once I see my data, but right now I'd have to say I'm mildly disappointed. Am I hoping for too much?

Glad to hear you're starting see some positive results.
The restorative benefits of this therapy are not like a light switch for most of us. It happens occasionally that it happens to someone, but that's a rare situation. Try to take it as it comes. Don't raise your expectations too high or you might be disappointed. Lots of us had this condition in some form for many, many years and it can take variable amounts of time for each of us.

Said another way - how long did it take you to get this way?
I know for me it could be 30yrs or so. Everyone is a bit different and it took time to become sleep deprived cuz we simply got used to it.
I'd say if your not snoring any longer AND you are feeling better that you are on the right path.
Good Luck,

I have no doubt, how I sleep affects every waking moment.
I am making progress-NOW I remember that I can't remember

If this isn’t rocket science why are there so many spaceshots?
