new intellipap auto

Post by jlherndon » Mon Jul 21, 2008 8:33 am

I woke up today and pressure was @ 18.1 worst night in five nights. It seems the best sleep I got when it was set somewhere between 9-17 or 9-15. any help on this auto would be thankful. Also I think my mask was leaking at 18.1 so that might explain it. my original script was 11 on a fixed cpap mode and I woke up tired the last year. would 9-17 be fine?

The 9 cms might be a bit low, you might need it upped to the 11 cms for the bottom limit since that was your previous set pressure.

HOWEVER, getting the leaks under control is important before you decide on and try any pressure changes as the leak very much does influence the needed pressure therapy, especially w/these autos.

Best to start w/determining the source of your leaks, trying to mouth breathe, the "lip flutters" or the mask fit, stuffed sinuses and/or nasal passages.

I would put it at 7 to 15, might as well experience a bit of comfort with therapy.

If you had lots of leak well that pretty much hosed your session and how you feel.

For those of you who have the Intellipap AutoAdjust CPAP, I am just wondering if you like it. I am thinking about it for my next machine. Does software come with the unit? Is it as small and quiet as it appears? What do you like and dislike about this unit?

Thanks for your feedback!
