Hair Lost versus CPap Mask

Post by Jeepster » Thu Jul 17, 2008 11:41 am

Hi! All,

Since last year I use Confort Gel mask that give me neck ache each night ... I buy the mask "Breeze SleepGear CPAP Interface System" last month and it work really well and I don't have neck ache anymore but I question myself about my hair and this mask?

Because this mask site on the top front of my head do you think this will cause my hair to fall??

Each morning I waked up I see my hair split in the front!!!

What do you think?

I don't think pressure from mask straps will cause hair to fall out. If anything your hair will protect your scalp from chafing under the straps. Just my thoughts- I'm not a doctor so I can't say that's true but it seems to make sense.

The Breeze is well known for causing a bald spot.

Don't know if it is the headgear cutting off vital blood flow to the region or what, but you are NOT the first to report hair loss using the Breeze,

maybe they should build a bracket on the headgear that holds a can of Rogaine

and I haven't even done a search here

someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...

Just wear a skull cap or night cap under the mask headgear.
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

What about a Pap-cap?

A little off topic but…..My hair is a little (a lot) thin on the top but since I started getting better sleep using CPAP I have noticed that I my hair is getting thicker. Maybe because of better sleep, maybe not.

a pap cap would work. it's large enough (and has a back flap) that the straps only touch the cap, not the hair.

I had been using the Cpap for a year and a half and definitely noticed my hair became very thin on top ...I am wondering if the straps rubbing against the skull or heat trapped under them are casing the damage to the hair follicles.
Did anyone had notice similar problems?

The comfort Gel full face (headgear) broke some of my hair off short at the crown.
It was enough to feel; but no other mask has done it for me. --and my hair has grown back.

I have a hair loss secret that has worked on all the women I have tried it on. Unfortunately it hasn't worked for that well for most men. It is better than Rogaine and it is cheap. I tested it on several people. It takes about 3 months to tell a difference but it does work. It is the only cheap product I use because normally you get what you pay for.

I really hate to say because it is not even a professional product. I started using it in the shop several years ago. A friend of my daughter came in and her hair looked great. Not everyone is blessed with good hair and she was one that wasn't. I asked what she was using and went that day and bought it. It is Mane and Tail conditioner for horses. The brand is Straight Arrow. The directions say to leave it in but you must rinse it out. One of the side effects of using this is beautiful long nails. This stuff is less than $10. a quart.

I think I've seen that shampoo or conditioner at Target or Walmart or something...right?

Yes. When I first started using it you had to get it at a farm supply store. I forgot to mention that you need to rub it into your scalp really well.

Slightly off topic regarding nasal masks: Goatees look dumb without a mustache on the upper lip, as I've found out from personal experience. However, mask fit does take precedence. Oh well, I'm not a movie star, I'm a senior citizen - so what do I care? Life goes on.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
