I can turn on my bipap by blowing into the hose.

Oh dear. There's so much wrong with this post. But...

I was wearing my full face mask, and just before crashing out, I was blowing into it to see that the check valve was seated. I had it malfunction a couple of nights ago. And to my surprise, I didn't have to reach over and push the button because the machine came on by itself. So last night I simply took a deep breath and blew into the face mask while wearing it, and when the check valve shuts, the air pressure goes up the hose and the machine turns on.

I am sort of posting this to see if anyone knows if it might actually be detrimental to the machine.

But it sure is nicer than having to get out of bed and push the button and get back in bed.

If it's set correctly,if the mask seals and the vent seals, it depends a lot on the mask type, it won't hurt the machine, but you might turn blue. I just use my finger to turn mine on, if that doesn't I use a different finger. Jim

Oh Goof you had me rolling with laughter on that. I have to race to get my mask on right before mine turns on by itself. I love it.

Yeah, but you got to admit it's pretty cool having a remote control start.

Hey, how about The Clapper!

Or maybe Help, I have fallen and I can't get up. I don't know, it's late and I've got two computers going at once in here. I've got one forum on one, and another forum on the other. Woo Hoo for broadband!

I put the mask on, then kickstart the blower. Then i pull the mask away from my face, it make the seal inflate evenly, and blows the critters out too.

Actually the self start feature is there to restart the machine in case the power goes south for a minute, and you don't wake up. The Clapper wouldn't work for me, the wife would see the machine had stopped, and she wouldn't clap, until the next morning, when I had turned blue.

My, technology has come a long way, it's as if my CPAP knows me. Mine talks dirty to me when I breathe into it.
