The SZ1 model at the top? I'm about to place my order and just make sure I'm getting the right thing...

Yes, you have the right website. I believe the model you want is SZ4. Enjoy the warmth.

I find it odd that they charge extra to not install a sensor tube. The only difference between the SZ-2 and the SZ-4 is that SZ-2 has a sensor rube inside -- and it is $6 cheaper.

They probably have a manufactorer who makes it in bulk with the sensor and they take the sensor out individually for those who don't want it. Thus more work = more money.

Aussie Hose

Post by Guest » Tue Jul 15, 2008 5:41 pm

Billmanweh,

Oh, your gonna love that aussie heated hose! I was on cpap for around 4 to 6 months suffering with that dreaded rainout every night and no matter what I did it would get a nose full of water!

The aussie has completely stopped that! Some people don't use their HH, just the aussie but I have a dry nose so I keep my HH on 1 all year round!

Enjoy!

I qsked my DME about the Aussie heated tube. She said that Medicare wouldn't
pay for it, and at $160, it is out of reach. And in winter our bedroom is so cold that a glass of water has been found frozen the next morning! You can imagine the fun i have with a half-frozen hose and rainout. Perhaps the price will come down
over time..?

You can make your own for a lot cheaper. Have a search on the forum for the repti heater. It costs about $15. You simply wrap it around your tube and use an ordinary tube cover.

I have been using it to great effect.

Good luck

Great idea, I found the manufacturer web site and the tinylink takes you there.

I wondered about pipe heaters but they are not very flexible.
