Mask creep

Post by Arizona-Willie » Tue Jul 15, 2008 11:23 am

When I use my Activa mask or the Mirage Ultra they gradually creep up on my face and soon the sides of the cushion are resting on my eyelids.

Naturally since these masks are shaped like an upside down V .. as they slide up the wider portion then rests on the eyelids.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Has anyone found a solution?

Yep, I've had the problem, but unfortunately I don't have the answer to it other than to keep tugging it down. I think it is either sweat or oil that develops through the night that makes the mask start creeping up on the slickness of it. I've tried a pantyhose band over the top of the elbow directed in downward fashion to the back of the neck, but it didn't make enough difference for me to add another thing hanging onto my mask. That might be worth a try for you, though. I've tried to think of how you could "anchor" the bottom straps down but have thought of nothing other than maybe velcro wrapped around the bottom straps and pinned to your jammy top possibly, yet another inconvenience and of course not practical for those that sleep au naturale.

I'm sorry, but so far the answer for me is to just keep tugging...and tugging...and tugging through the night as the slickness develops. A gob of Mack's at the top of the mask just slid right along with the mask unfortunately.

Good luck and, if you come up with something good, please do share!

Peggy

Flip the headgear upside down then the "V" is going the other direction. The tag on the back of the headgear will be upside down, but who cares.
someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...

You could try the CPAP CAP. Nothing is going to slide up with it anchored under your chin. I use the Activa, too.
