Mouth Noise with a Full Face Mask

Post by gw » Fri Jul 11, 2008 11:26 am

I have trouble with horrible air noises that come out of my mouth between my lips with my regular nasal mask. I suppose the pressure above my top lip from the bottom of my nasal mask causes that. Can you tell me if you have the same problem when using a full face mask. I am using the tape over my mouth now, but wondering if I will still need to do this with a full face.

Some people were talking about templates with the Mirage masks, what are they?

Mouth breathing is not an issue with full face masks. You just have to watch out for dry mouth.

Don't know about the templates...sorry.

You have to call ResMed customer service and have them send you the templates. I had to call three times, but when you ask for their name and exactly when you will receive it, the templates showed up 2 days later. They are nice plastic 3D templates and I am sure you need to read carefully how to fit these templates. Basically I have been much happier with the smallest size that my mouth would fit it with the template hitting the crease in your chine, just like the mask will do.
