How Do I Erase TOTAL HOURS on Machine?

Post by Godsgirl » Mon Jul 07, 2008 7:12 am

Hi,

I just got a Respironics REMstar PLUS M Series from a friend and wanted to know how to erase the total hours. I'd like to start from scratch if this is possible? Not sure if total hours can be erased but if it can, I know someone on this forum knows how to do it!!! Thank you for any help/info you would give me! I appreciate it!

There are two kinds of hours that the machine records......"Blower hours" and "Therapy hours". The therapy hours can be zeroed from the Setup menu but the blower hours cannot be.......that's a factory thing and usually only when and if they would replace the main (PCA) board.

Write down the current hours then use ol' fashioned subtraction. Just a thought!!

Resetting the blower hours would be like resetting a car's odometer, in terms of a not-so-honest person (or DME) trying to sell it secondhand, so I'd be suprised if any manufacturer built in that feature. I'd write down what it's at right now, and then keep a calculator handy to subtract out how many hours YOU'RE using it (or check to see if you can wipe out the number of "therapy hours" on your model).

Thanks, everybody, for your replies! Yes, they are blower hours so I guess I'm going to have to use my calculator, huh? It makes sense that the blower hours can't be erased since there are some that would sell a used machine as new. I'll just keep track of the hours myself. Thanks, again!!!

Just zero the patient hours, the blower hours are only needed for a idea of sales condition. Jim
