Hi all!
I have been using my new Resmed APAP for the last week at the factory defaults of 4 - 20
For the first week my AHI has been between 4 and 8 which is probably not too bad considering my pretreatment score was 60+
I am using the same mask I did my month trial with and pretty well have the mask fit nailed down.
Yesterday I started "tweaking" and brought the lower number up to 4.4 as a first small step towards lowering the AHI as much as possible.
Last night's numbers were:
Press: 13.8
Leak: 0.00
AHI: 7.5
AI: 0.7
HI:6.8
Any comments, hints, or help would be appreciated.

Your AHI is still a bit high. Needs to be under 5.0. Most idealy like to keep it under 1.0 at least most of the time. Your leak rate is PERFECT and for most that is the key to good therapy. I think your Auto pressure is still to wide. When it is that wide it takes to long to get to where it prevents the apneas. I would try 10 to 15 if your 90 or 95 % is showing 13.8. Resmeds do record more hypotneas than most other machines so an AI of 0.7 is not bad at all. JMHO

The default setting is way too broad a range. It takes too long for your machine to get up to the pressure you need.
I just checked and 6PtStar said what I was going to say!!
I would just add-when you reset the range, and 10-15 looks good with your pressure of 13.8, leave it there for at least 3 or 4 day, preferably a week or 2 to let the range settle in and adjust. it takes that long to see if this is a good range for you. You may probably see different AHIs for a few days but it will settle to a pattern and you will know, then, if that's the right range for you for now.

Nothing really wrong with those numbers, AHI seen is from residual Hypopnea which is a partial obstruction.
Bumping the Minimum up by .5 cm may reduce it but then again it could make it worse.
As long as your AI (Apnea) indice is 1 or below that is all you need to worry about.
