cpap pressure

Post by irishdame » Fri Jun 20, 2008 3:10 pm

ok I still am having trouble going to sleep and waking up 5-6 times a night and sometimes more. They put me on 7 pressure whatever that means. Sometimes I feel like I think I can't breath and take it off. Been on it 1 month. Still being patient. Go to doctor Monday. I feel like a zombie everyday. Can't think straight. I want this to work in the worst way and soon!!!!!!!! Could it be the pressure isn't doing the trick? I wake up more now than before I started this thing. I am trying to stay possitive, but getting harder. I'm just so sleepy. Thanks, Emily

Can't breathe from too much or not enough pressure? If it feels like you're suffocating, then it would seem to indicate not enough pressure.
Are you using the C-Flex option? Ramp? (If you're using Ramp and starting at a lower pressure for too long, that would probably make the suffocation feeling even worse)

Den

(5) REMstar Autos w/C-Flex & (6) REMstar Pro 2 CPAPs w/C-Flex - Pressure Setting = 14 cm.

Take a deep breath....Rome wasn't built in a day. Time and patience are your friend. It takes time to get acclimated to cpap...it's the nature of the beast.

Yep Den is prolly right.

They may have set your ramp to start out at too low of a pressure. I would also be suspect of the titrated pressure of 7.

Me thinks you need to come visit here more often and get up to speed on how to take control of your treatment.

Let us know how it goes with the doc on Monday.

BTW - You have a good machine, all you need is the software and a good mask and your in like Flynn to enjoy life as good as it can be. Good luck!

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.
