Looking for a used CPAP

Post by billydee » Sun Jun 15, 2008 2:01 pm

My ResMed died after two and a half years even though I had problems for the first year in keeping the mask on all night and hardly used it. Warranty was only good for two years so I am out $2500 and my company does not cover it.

I can't afford another one and am wondering if anybody knows where I can buy a used one in good working order. Somebody suggested a CPAP auction iste but I have lost the address.

TIA

cpapauctions.com is the safest. There is also craigslist where you pays yer money takes yer chances.

Did you ever check your Resmed's serial number against the Recall list's serial numbers? Its seems some local DME suppliers were quite remiss in NOT notifying their clients of the Recall.

I ordered my current machine from: http://www.secondwindcpap.com

Shipping was fast. Unit was exactly as described. I was very happy. There prices and selection seem to vary wildly. Some days they would have what I wanted at a good price and some days... not so much.

You really ought to check out a NEW cpap from ProBasics. It's a $210 unit. With a heated humidifier it's like $350. I met the ProBasics people at Sleep2008 convention and saw their machine etc. I was extremely impressed. When my cpap dies I'm gonna get one for sure.

At least Resmed's Recall fixed the problem, GumbyCT. We can't say the same for Respironics only recall for the initial M Series integrated humidifier problem. They've issued how many "fixes" since then? None of them recalls.

I know of someone who has an extra cpap they want to sell. If you are interested I can see if they would want to swap info and you could get specifics. Let me know...

I just spent time searching Craigslist, and found an incredible deal on a Bipap. It's a man who has a few machines from a company that was shut down. I told him about our forum, so he should be posting his machines here soon. Or I can give you his contact info.

Please post the man's info that you are dealing with through craigslist!

Curious!

Thanks,

Resmed's recall was to fix a fire hazzard, The Mighty "M"'s HH problem, was falsely posing as a Fire extlinguisher. Jim
