What the heck am I doing wrong?

Post by MicheleK » Sat Jun 14, 2008 9:52 pm

Well I finally found a mask I could use without choking...(I have to have the kind that fits over the nose and mouth). So, I've been given a "trial" machine to use for the next week to get used to sleeping with my mask. Once that's done I have another sleep study then I FINALLY get my own CPAP.

So, I use the machine at the CPAP company's office and everything is fine (except there's no water in it). I get ready for bed last night, put my distilled water in and put my mask on....I'm getting an error on my machine of an air leak, and it's LOUD. I try everything...come to find out it's the lid on the stupid CPAP. It's not closing all the way the air is like blowing it open enough to get an error.

If I keep my finger on it, it works fine, but I obviously can't sleep that like...

Ugh, what should I do?

Without knowing what they gave you, it will be hard to get a correct responce. That just leaves, Duct Tape, and go back to where you got it and get a answer. Jim

Machine sorta sounds like an M Series Respironics, and the Humidifier tank may not be pushed all the way in to contact. Thus, preventing the "lid" to not close.

Well, it could also be the Resmed as that humidifier cover needs to be snapped down. Put it down, then don't be afraid to PRESS FIRMLY and you will hear a snap as it locks down. When lifting the cover you have to feel the plastic edge and pull up on that.
